Emily combines elements of humanistic, solution-focused therapy, integrative psychotherapy and CBT techniques for an overall holistic counseling approach. She uses a non-directive counseling style and shares her natural empathy with clients. Emily guides clients in exploration of their life-strategies in a safe, non-judgmental environment. She believes life’s journey comes with its share of challenges for us to overcome. Every stage of life is a new challenge and opportunity for growth and self-reflection.  Emily is passionate in her role of helping people gain personal insight and bringing awareness into the present moment.

Emily is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the state of Colorado. She earned a Master of Clinical/Counseling Psychology (MA) at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2007. Emily earned her school counseling certification from Colorado State University in 2014 and BA from Illinois State University (2004).

Emily has unique experience working with both adolescents and adults in a wide variety of settings, including: outpatient mental health centers, residential treatment, college counseling centers, therapeutic day schools and public and charter school settings.

Emily believes that self-awareness and consciousness are keys to well-being. She feels that the therapeutic relationship is a channel for this process to unfold. Emily believes that the first step to inner peace is recognizing that something needs to change and the fact that you are reading this means that you are ready.

While Emily works with a wide range of issues, she specializes in counseling adults and adolescents who are struggling with issues related to:

  • anxiety and stress

  • relationships

  • life transitions

  • self-identity

  • trauma

  • pregnancy and transition into parenthood
